The process - four simple steps
Step 1 - Choose your size and options
Select your canvas size, frame preference, and paint count (24 colours for standard photos, 36 colours if your photo has a lot of fine detail like faces, fur, or complex backgrounds).
Step 2 - Upload your photo and place your order
Upload your photo directly on this page, then complete your order as normal. Our design team reviews every photo personally.
Step 3 - We create your custom canvas
Our designers convert your photo into a numbered canvas layout. If there's any issue with your photo quality, we'll contact you before proceeding.
Step 4 - Your kit is made and shipped to you
Once approved, your kit is produced and shipped. Custom kits are made to order - allow approximately 2–3 weeks from order to delivery. You'll receive a tracking link as soon as it dispatches.
Choosing the right photo - tips for the best result
The quality of your finished painting depends heavily on the photo you start with. Here's what works and what to avoid:
✅ What makes a great photo
- Clear, sharp focus - especially on the main subject
- Even, natural lighting - soft daylight is ideal
- Subject fills most of the frame - close-up or mid-shot works best
- Good contrast between the subject and the background
- Resolution of at least 1000 × 1000 pixels (a standard smartphone photo is fine)
- A simple or plain background helps the subject stand out beautifully in the final painting
❌ What to avoid
- Backlit photos - where bright light is behind the subject, washing out detail and colour
- Blurry or out-of-focus images - these cannot be sharpened in conversion and will result in unclear number sections
- Subject too small in the frame - if your subject takes up less than a third of the photo, fine detail will be lost
- Heavy filters or high contrast edits - natural, unedited photos convert best
- Low resolution or heavily compressed images - screenshots from social media often don't have enough detail
💡 Good to know: Any photo can technically be used, but photos that follow these guidelines will give you the most satisfying result to paint - and the most impressive finished piece to hang on your wall.

Your linen canvas arrives pre-stretched and mounted on a timber frame, ready to paint straight away - and ready to hang the moment you finish. Mounting hooks are included. This is the easiest, most satisfying experience from first brushstroke to finished artwork on your wall.
DIY Frame Kit
Your canvas arrives rolled, along with a timber frame and the hardware to stretch and mount it yourself before you begin painting. A great option if you enjoy the full hands-on experience.
Canvas Only (No Frame)
Your canvas arrives rolled. Before painting, you'll need to flatten it - the easiest method is to lay it face-down on a clean flat surface and gently run a warm iron over the back (no steam), working from the centre outward. Alternatively, roll it loosely in the opposite direction for a few hours or leave it flat under a few heavy books overnight. Once it's smooth and flat, tape or clip it to a firm board and you're ready to paint. This option is ideal if you prefer to choose your own frame once the painting is complete.
What size should I choose?
